Perfect for all levels of students, this on-going programme will allow students to flourish, as they increase their love and attachment to the Luminous Qur’an. Our flexible setup means you can study in person on-campus, or benefit from our interactive option and study online (via live stream, on demand, and skype).
Beginners will be taught the Qur’anic Arabic Qaida, makraj (articulation points), and the correct pronunciation (introduction to tajwid) of Arabic letters; intermediate learners will pick up the rules that govern the science of Qur'anic recitation (further tajwid), correct pronuciation of Surah al-Fatiha and the last ten surahs; and advanced students will be exposed to the traditional 'listen, recite, and correct methodology' as they master the recitation of Surah al-Fatiha and the entire 30th chapter (Juz Amma).
Certificates will be awarded upon the successful completion of each stage, and ijaza (classical authorisation/license to transmit) in Qur’anic recitation will also be presented at the behest of the teacher (as and when it is deemed the student has reached the requisite level of learning and understanding through first-hand oral instruction).
With almost a decade of experience in serving our local and wider communities, we have always combined traditional teaching and dawah methodologies with new innovative techniques. This deft blend has allowed us to fine tune our teaching practices, ensuring we meet the needs of our students, whilst being equipped to serve them in the best way.
We were the first Sunni organisation in the UK to seamlessly blend on-site, on-line, and on-demand (distance) learning:
In-class students learn in a traditional learning environment, where the teacher represents the spring of knowledge and righteousness, the continuation of the glorious past, and the embodiment of the blessing and light of an unbroken chain of transmission.
Students can participate in the class in realtime via live-stream. Classes are broadcast in HD 720p, with studio quality sound. Students can also ask questions and interact live with the teacher.
Students have access to HD 1080p recordings, allowing them to engage and learn at their own pace, and also catch up on any missed lessons.
The Essentials of Qur'anic Recitation is taught by some of the leading practitioners in the north, who are both fully experienced and qualified.
The beginners and intermediate classes are led by Ustadh Ejaaz and Ustadh Hamza (holds ijaza in hafs from two different teachers); two vibrant and young teachers with a real passion for the Holy Qur'an.
The advanced class is led by internationally renowned qari, Shaykh Abd-Allah; a master in serval qira'at (methods of reciting the Holy Qur'an).
Allah instructs us in Surah al-Baqarah (verse 121) to recite the Noble Qur'an in an appropriate manner: "Those to whom We have given the Book, recite it in the manner it should be read". This can only be achieved by studying the essentials of Qur'anic recitation.
One of the rights that the Qur'an has over us is that it must be read with measured recitation, where each letter is cleary distinguished, .and where the recitor is familiar with the rules that govern Qur'anic recitation. Thus why Tajweed is classified as fard al-ayn (obligatory knowledge).
The Qur'an will either testify for you or against you on the Day of Judgement. Therefore, by reciting the Qur'an properly and honouring this science, insha'Allah, it will intercede on your behalf and be a means of salvation.
The majesty of the Qur'an is unparelled. In fact, loving, honouring, and reciting the Qur'an is the best of cures against all harm and evil. Furthermore, the best of people are those who learn the Qur'an and teach it to others (Bukhari); such is its ranks.
